My wife and I are look ing into buying our first home together and have heard in brief about how HUD and some other programs are giving assitance to people with CF. We don't too much about this and I can't find anything on the web, can you all tell me anything you might know about this and if it is worth it to do.

I am not aware of anything specific to CF. They tend to work with lower income home buyers.

Here is the HUD website. I wasnt able to find anything directly linked to CF, but maybe you can find something else that would be of assistance.

I am not aware of anything like this either, BUT for what it is worth my husband has been a residential loan officer for 9 years now and would be more than happy to help you answer any questions and/or secure a home loan. He is really great at what he does and is patient, explains things well and is honest.

For what it is worth you can email him at: markprotect-wealth@yahoo.com just put that you are from the CF Forum in subject line so he does not erase it. You can also email him at halem@draperandkramer.com too, then he will FOR SURE get it!

Good luck!

I don't know of anything through HUD, but I do know of a homeowner's assistance program thought the Franchise Tax Board.

There are some calculations to do to see if you qualify. One of the major ones is your adjusted annual income must be less than $42,770 (this includes SSI and SSDI checks). Here's the link to the form.

</a>
They also have a similar program for renters.
