I never even thought about o2 until I became sick with pneumonia and my O2 Sats would not stay above I think a 92-93 at rest. They did a sleep study and all that great stuff and then I went on O2 at night and gradually needed to use it more and more. It made a difference though and I did feel a lot better when I was using it!

that reminds me. i really need to buy an oximeter to see what my sats are at night. i suspect they are getting worse but sleep studies or o2 monitoring at hospital are useless because i dont go to sleep! i keep meaning to buy one but i seem to spend my money on things that are much more fun.

i know the nonin ones are good, but what about the other cheap brands on ebay? <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=oximeter&category0=&submitSearch=Search">http://search.ebay.com/search/...0=&submitSearch=Search</a>

I am new to oxygen use... recently when on Home IV's my doc started me on oxygen at home as my sats were down to 88. Symptom wise I was short of breath at rest, tired and weak.

I have been instructed to get on the oxygen when my sats fall to that level. Recently however they got down to 79 on room air... not really sure why.

I was told by the Home health care folks that it would be a good idea to get a pulse ox and searched the net for a good price. I found that Med1Online had the best deal on the Nonin Onyx 9500 which I ended up purchasing. But also have great prices on a few others. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.med1online.com/c-1456-finger.aspx?gcid=S17407x001&keyword=finger%20pulse%20oximeter">Med1Online</a>
