Hookah Bar

Well I received a call this morning and it was the manager of the local Alibaba Hookah Bar asking me to host a comic show at his bar. It would be an amazing oportunity as I would not only be an MC, but I would also be the main comic....I know what your thinking...if Im the main comic....boy are they gonna be disapointed. Well anyways....its a hookah bar. Lots and lots of tobacco smoke. What do you guys think? Should I do it or not? Im kinda assuming it wont be any different from other gigs in bars with smoke, but a hookah bar? I dont know....

No job is worth endangering your health. When I was job hunting I got an offer to work in a very prestigious lab. At the time it seemed like a perfect fit for me on all levels based on my education and research emphasis. However, I was going to be working with MOLD. If my allergy to mold didn't kill me, then my CF doctors certainly would have if I had taken the job.

There are multiple opportunities out there. Be picky. You're worth it.

At the time it seemed like a perfect fit for me on all levels based on my education and research emphasis. However, I was going to be working with MOLD. If my allergy to mold didn't kill me, then my CF doctors certainly would have if I had taken the job.

There are multiple opportunities out there. Be picky. You're worth it.

Is this just a one night thing or an ongoing position? How do you react to second hand smoke? If it was me, personally, I would do it if it was a short gig - but that's just me. It sounds like you're concerned about it, so that there might be a sign that you shouldn't do it?

Brandon, I'm so excited for you!!! This is what you have wanted, been striving for! I don't think doing it one nite would be so bad--two nights in a row would probably be though. Maybe if you can get it as a gig, you can arrange to do it once or twice a week. You need this for your resume'--it will help you get the next big gig. Man, if you can build up a following that would be sooo awesome! I wanna be a groupie! Ok, I'm dreaming BIG for you!!! I'm thinking of next year when you get all your fellow comedians together and have some kind of CF Benefit...Wait, a minute, guess I should wait UNTIL you do this one gig, I'm getting carried away...I'll just be content to be your number 1 fan!!!
