Hospital beds

Thank you all for your advise <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I phoned up the docs office this morning and we have a hospital bed now, yahhhh finally!!!

If it didn't happen today then i would have went through emergency like you all suggested.

They didn't want Kj to do home hospital as she has lost so much weight and lung function. Which is unusual for her. They want to do all the diabetes tests. I dont think that that is the problem with the weight though as she isnt excessively thirsty or peeing heapz.

so here goes for another 10 day tuneup <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

My thoughts are still going out to Lindsey for a quick recovery. I'm sooooo excited for her!!

Good news they didn't find psuedo in her last sputum, but they are going to treat her for it just in case. So fingers crossed its gone.

I live in the country in Australia. This is the first time we have had to wait this long for a bed. I was soooo cross.

She is going in at 12noon today so I shouldn't really be on the comp lol. I just had to get an update on Lindsey <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Before everyone lashes out, let's review Economics 101.

When you put price control on any item (in this case, healthcare), supply becomes limited and shortages appear.

This happens everytime price controls occure. Without fail.

If you allow the market to set the price for goods & services (in this case, healthcare) there are no shortages. The market will create supply based on market need.

Anyone remember Carter's gasoline price controls? I wasn't alive, but everyone knows what happened. There were lines in gas stations. Why???? Because supply shrank.

My comment on the hospital beds is nothing personal against any person or any country. It's simply an observation of a fact.

The same occures with the Vest in socialized medicine countries. Price controls prohibit HillRom or Respirtech from selling the devices in socialized medicine countries. The result? A shortage of supply for patients.

But when the price control is taken away (patients pay cash), there is no shortage. Patients obtain the machine at the market price.
