My doc usually knows because I call for a vitamin K script. So that of course gets recorded, and every time I visit my clinic they ask if I've coughed up any blood. But if you're coughing up a lot of it, you should at least give your doc the heads up.
I'm glad i'm getting all this info about hemotysis, It's happened to me several times and is alway scary, but i'm getting more used to it... vitamin k script can you tell me more? and Diane thanks for that story, i think it's good to know what could happen if you ignore it .... Joni, a vitamin K script, is a prescription for Vitamin K from your doctor. A lot of us with cf dont have enough vit. K in our blood and we need it ( vit.K) to help clot the blood. Hope that helped <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
