For us it's a prescription like any other and is submitted to the ins. company by the pharmacy. In some cases it's a higher co-pay but that's the deal. Although I have supplemental insurance for my daughter through the state that I pay a monthly premium for, but the state pays for all 'scrip' co-pays and office co-pays...and any remainder of a bill after the primary insurance pays its less than adequate portion. Bottom line is I feel fortunate to have the coverage I do. These days with employers changing health plans so frequently you never know what you'll end up with.
