How do you feel if you miss a treatment?

When I was a teenager, I could usually miss treatments for a couple days before I noticed a significance, but I definatly didn't make it happen. Now that I am 27, I notice if I skip one or two.

when I was younger and healthier, I couldnt really tell it. I may have coughed a little more and been a little short of breathe. Now that I have more advanced CF, if I miss a treatment it's a big deal...my chest can hurt, I will have hard coughing, feeling like I cant breathe/get my breath and light activity (like walking) will cause me to become SOB. I do albuterol neb and vest every 4-6 hrs while awake (or if it wakes me up at night from coughing/SOB). I do DNase in the morning and before bed. I have always done 3-4 treatments (albuterol/chest therapy) a day since a young age.

I can usually go without a treatment (Vest) every once in a while and not feel any different. Although if I miss more than one, I start coughing a lot!

I always feel bad after missing a treatment. My chest feels tight or clogged and I feel like I'm breathing through a cheese cloth. It's not so bothersome when I miss my pulmozyme, but it's horrible when I miss my albuterol or hyper-sal. I even feel that way when I just take them a few hours later than usual!

Missing one treatment doesn't make much of a difference to me, but, for example, when my pulmozyme runs out and my mom can't get it for a week or so, I cough a ton and can occasionally feel that nasty thick rattling when i take deep breaths.

As of right now, if I miss a treatment I don''t really notice anything different. Most of the time I only cough when I'm doing my treatments, specifically Hypertonic Saline.

As for enzymes, I try never to miss those.
