My biggest motivations are people. Not all people, because the masses drive me nuts. But certain people in my life, my Mike at the top of the list. I have others, but I'm pretty sure he's the most prevalent.

I have to agree with Emily. With my family, and my boyfriend Rick, to motivate me, to urge me to do my treatments and stay heatlthy for their sake if not my own, is enough to get me out of bed every day. Mind you, I have my points when I just don't feel like it's worth it anymore (as I'm sure almost everyone on this site does), but when I hear Rick tell me that he needs me to help him get though his day, and my sister says that I'm her hero for being able to do what I do every day, it makes things a little better. I look at it this way; it's not how long you live, but the quality of life you have before you die. As shameful and pathetic as the world is, having people there that love you make it worth while.

The little things in life. Puppies, butterflies, rainbows, beaches. Sounds tacky but is true.

I like being the person I am. I like my life. Ok, it all sounds so cliche, but hey <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

Responsibility keeps me going!

I have a 2.5 year old daughter and a husband.

I want my daughter to grow up knowing who her mother is and my husband to grow old with me.

I will fight to the very end! If I don't achieve these goals, at least I will be able to take some pride knowing that I tried my very best.

The same things that motivate you to get through the day is what gets us through. We just have more on our plates. I'm sure none of us think about all we do, we just do it because thats all we know. BeckyB

For the most part I am an upbeat person. I cant change the fact that I have CF & I have never been one to say "why me". I have my moments when I get down. Anyone does even those without a chronic illness. I dont have any easy answers as to how I do it. I just do. Its simple in my mind. I explained to my oldest sister the same way. She was going thru some temporary heart issues & asked me how I deal with being sick daily etc. I said I just do. No other choice. Things arent going away. As another poster said...we have a choice. I have found that attitude works in my relationships also so why not with the issue of CF! Since having my daughter I would say that I take things in stide more than I use to. That is for her benefit more than anything. It helps her handle issues that arise in school etc.
