How do you view youself?

I view myself as mild - today my FEV1 was 90%. My FEV1 has dipped into the high 50's before, but more normally I am between 80-90.

More importantly I don't view myself as a sick person. I view myself as someone who needs to work really really hard to stay healthy. Its a big difference.

I consider myself moderatley severe. My FEV1 was 42% last time I was at the DR and I will see if it has changed at all when I go on the 27th. I have a feeling it has dropped again.

Diane, our numbers are the same but unlike you I am not very active. I get SOB very easily and my energy level is next to nil. I sleep most of my free time, or just lay around because it takes too much energy to do things like food shop. I do work a full time job M-F from 8-5:30. This is way too much for me and I know that.

My FEV1 is right around 90%. I consider myself mild for now. Though I have to say, I'm less mild than I was when I was a child. Because while my FEV1 is still quite high, my small airways have gone from the 90th percentile down to the 40% range.

I consider myself on the low side of moderate. My FEV1 has dropped recently from 42 to 40%. I am pretty active though and work an 8 to 5 job M-F. My only complaint is I do feel short of breath going up flights of stairs. While I could very easily sleep all day (I love to sleep!), I do feel like there's nothing I can't handle physically.
