How does spouse or gf/bf deal with coughing?

It was just a question. Most of our spouses don't complain at all about the coughinmg, and yet we still tend to feel like a nuisance sometimes. At least that's how I feel. The only time Mike ever "complains" is when I'm obviously in pain, or having trouble breathing. And that's only because he hates to see me hurt. I think the person who asked was just looking for others who knows how it feels to feel like you're always distracting, too loud, or simply a pain in the butt.

I have been goign out with my boyfriend for almost 1 1/2 now and I have to say I never really noticed it, I mean I don't ignore it but I don't coment on it every time it happens. I remember the first time he met my parents, we waching a movie and almost everytime Marc-André (boyfriend) would laugh he would start coughing. I didn't realize how much until, after he'd left my father asked me if he was okay because he was coughing so much. At least my parents don't comment, I mean my mom is a nurse, she likes him but down't like the CF she was mad at me for going out with him at first but she never actually told him to his face...just to mine. My dad well I can see it just makes him a bit uncomfortable, he loves him but whenever the conversation turns to meds, CF in general or when Marc-André coughts, he is uncomfortable, he clearly feels out of place but he'll get use to it!

The worst however is the rest of the family. I have an aunt, whom I don't really like in the first place, called me up once, my boyfriend had just been in a uge car accident and she wanted to know how he was doing. I told her he was doing a lot better and she told me 'That's good, and with this thing he has already, poor little guy' as if I was going out with a 2 year old!!!!!

ok I realize the last bit wans't really about coughing but I'll still leave it there for your enjoyment
