How long?

Hey, everyone.

I always seem to have so many inquiries when I'm on abx... Sorry! LOL.... Guess I just get inquisitive and nothing better to do than ask my best and most knowledable buddies what ya'll think!

Anyway, just curious how long it usually takes you to feel better once you've start IV abx? And, how long does it usually take until you can feel your phlegm getting thinner, lighter, etc.? I'm on day 4 and still coughing up the same color and consistency, though maybe a TINY bit less than before abx. Still coughing up thick stuff though, so I'm kinda weirded out by this.

I have actually posted a thread like this last time I was on abx since they didn't do a culture when I went on meds and we found 2 weeks in that I was resistant to what they Rx'd (nice), so now I'm just super paranoid that I'm not getting better faster and wondering if the same thing is happening (the culture is done, but since it was the holiday weekend, I won't know my sensitivities until tomorrow or Weds. urgh)

Anyway, just curious what your experiences with this are? Also, I seemed to be pretty sick compared to other times this time around when starting meds, so I figured the meds need to work "harder" to get through the crap I'm growing anyway. Maybe that isn't the logical biological theory, but I would assume it would matter how "bad" you are before starting treatment to correlate with how fast you feel relief???

Hmmmm....

thanks!

My last treatment it took 2 weeks to start feeling better, even though I was being treated for what was cultured and I usually feel better after a few days. I'm with you on the sicker you are, the longer it takes to work. Hope you start feeling better soon. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

It takes me a few weeks. I initially feel worse as the meds kick in. That has lasted up to a week & then I start seeing improvement.
