How many meals and snacks does your CF'er eat?

I realized that Maggie script for her enzymes allows for 3 meals a day and 3 snacks a day. She eats more than that! Being that Cheetos can be a meal with the amount of fat in them that I need to get her doc to increase the amount of enzymes per day she can have. Our insurance company is now counting how may pills she takes in a certain time period . Lovely....I find this very frustrating not to have enough wiggle room if she drops an enzyme on the floor and the doc licks it or she has a growth spurt and eats non-stop. So, how often does your Cf'er eat? I haven't kept track really before but now our insurance co is I realize I need to keep track as well so I can have enough enzymes.

Alyssa doesn't really eat enough. We always have tons of enzymes left over at the end of the month. Our script is written for 3 with snacks, 4 with meals...but now that she swallows them whole she doesn't need that many. We also have a seperate script for enzymes for tube feeds -- so for enzymes our cup runeth over!!

I'd say ask the docs to increase the script, so that you are sure to have enough in the house. Nothing worse than a CFer who can't get the enzymes she needs.

DS is a huge snacker and I'm constantly giving him additional enzymes 'cuz his snacks amount to meals. Last night he ate two mini hershey bars, two little debbie cake cream filled hearts (sorta like twinkies), plus some cheeto crackers and sunflower nuts, so I ended up giving him 5 -- his usual for meals.

Then he had gymnastics and ate a bag of bugles and a juice box on the way home and most of a chicken nugget happy meal. So basically he's eating about 6-7 meal/snacks a day.

BTW, I just noticed DS new bottles of enzymes have 3 for meals and 2-3 for snacks typed on them. The doctor didn't change the script, so I'm wondering WHO did. They used to say as directed and was given about 750 a time.. His norm is 5 enzymes per meal and then whatever he eats snacking... Hmmm! Have to keep an eye on it!

I feel like my girls eat all day long! I swear that as soon as I get finished with dinner dishes, they are in there getting a snack! They eat at least three meals a day plus four snacks. That would be during the weekend when they are home. During school, they only have three snacks a day.

We usually have some enzymes left over b/c sometimes they may not take them as they should! Or maybe they had a snack of fruit or maybe a snow cone, and just didn't need the enzymes with them. The breakfast they eat is normally lower in fat, so they do not take a normal 'meal' amount of enzymes during that meal (most of the time).
