ladybug,
I'm not surprised the peak flows are so innacurate. I don't have one, but just on what I've researched and already know about "flow meters" and "flow sensors", I would conclude that the flow meters that hospitals give out is more than likely not a very expensive device, and probably relies on a flow measurement that's about 40% or so accurate.
Of course, this would also mean that as the accuracy rises, so does the cost.

Hey, maybe contacting the guy who did the "Frequencer" design might be able to do a flow meter, too?!

Sonia,
I had a peakflow at home, in fact i think i still have it. It had to blow in as fast as i could and a small arrow would be pushed away. I did them when i was little but haven't done them for a very very long time. Don't know why really and i don't know if they are reliable or not.

I had that other thing too. When you had to breath in as much as you could and a thing would go up, i had one in a space theme with pictures of aliens and astronauts on it hehe.

The device i got now, after my tx. Is much much better then the 'simple' peak flow. The hospital has set it with my age, heights and such. It is reliable i think. It doesn't change that much between this one and pft's at hospital, maybe 0.1 liter. And i can blow 3 exact number after eachother, like 1.32 3x...
