hts question

aj has been kida stuffy lately. so we bought a himidifier and i was also thinking what if i held him while i was doing my hts? the pedi told me i could rinse out his nose with salt water, but i only want that as a last result cause i know i hate stuff being shot up my nose. do you guys think thats an ok idea?

I don't know how much he'd actually get while you held him during your treatment. Worth a try I guess. I wouldn't hesitate using some saline in his nose though. Sure they don't like it but it works really well. I like "simply saline" and they have a baby one - it fires a very fine mist while you hold the thing down. About a minute later I'd suction his nose. I only needed to do it when he had a bad cold though.

what if you used a mask with the HTS instead of a mouthpiece. wouldn't the HTS be breathed in thru the nose and effectively do the same thing? or am I oversimplifying (been known to happen)

I'd be a little nervous about using it on a teeny tiny baby with the mask. DS had sinus issues when he was a baby and I'd use saline spray in his nose and suction out the boogies -- which he hated -- but then he'd be able to breathe and eat again.
