Hyp Saline at night problems

I just wanted to comment on what Laura mentioned about diluting the solution. I take 3% saline solution and I get plenty up with that. I actually would be bothered if my doc upped the solution with how productive my cough is and how much I cough with 3% solution.

So it can be effective even if it is not hypertonic - if it is just regular saline.

Hiya. I notice that if I do my pulmozyme -after- my HS at night, it
helps my lungs relax and not keep me up. I dunno if that'll help,
but it has for me. I also try to do my HS with my vest at the same
time (dunno if you have one) it keeps things moving during my
treatment and so there is less to get out afterwards, plus I feel
in general less irritated by the HS if I do it with my vest. If you
don't have a vest, try doing just CPT on your front and
sides while breathing the stuff. It's what I did before I had
the vest and I needed to get stuff out while breathing the
pulmozyme.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better
lindsey, just wanted to comment on your comment on my comment

"regular" saline is ~1% so if you are doing 3% then that is definitly more. i am pretty sure that they have found regular saline to NOT have the same benefits as HS.
