I have just started hyper sal last week. Since starting it it makes my voice re ally raspy and a little sore. Should i be worried or will this go away after im use to it? It has been making me cough up a TON of mucus so i hope its working. What has been your experience with hyper sal? Will i keep coughing up crap or does it slow down?

Hi Teri, if you stop using it your voice will get better in a few days. I had that happen with Tobi. If you continue your throat will prob get used to it. I cut my HS with sterile water because it is too harsh for me. The mucus will also calm down once the majority comes out.

The same thing happened to me when I first started using it. Of course this made me hate doing it! I don't remember how long it took exactly, but now I am completely used to it and it doesn't bother me one bit. I would say try to stick with it and give it a chance because it is a great treatment option. Are you on 7%? You could also ask your doctor if you could do 3% for a little while and work your way up if you really feel that you can't tolerate it.

Thanks for the replies. I am on 7%. But i will stick with it, if it eventually goes away.

I have been on it since January and I almost always still cough until I puke.... but it is worth it to have the goobs of mucus gone!
