Hypertonic saline- waiting list?

Oh, sorry, I forgot to go back and give you an answer<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0"> . They said it is on back order, and they don't know when they will get another one, so there is a waiting list. I thought the reason they were using this combination was the shortage of the last combo...

Oh, sorry, I forgot to go back and give you an answer<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0"> . They said it is on back order, and they don't know when they will get another one, so there is a waiting list. I thought the reason they were using this combination was the shortage of the last combo...

I always wondered how much bacteria would be in the tubing from it being wet from condensation.

We always run the compressor for 6mins aprox after every neb to get the condensation out.

We can only get hypertonic from our childrens hospital in the city. it comes in 6%, 10ml satches. 180 satchets only costs me $14.70 (aud)

I was wondering if I could just store the rest of the opened solution in the fridge in the satchet and just roll the end to seal it, for the night time neb. seems such a waste to throw it out. But then I wouldn't want to infect Kayla with anything though.

I always made mine myself with the 0.9% bottles. In the states do you buy it?!?

Over here you would make a bottle up at home and keep it in the fridge for a week...

Wow...I didn't realize so many people were getting it in vials! I get my 7% HS in an I.V. bag and I just draw out 5cc's when I do my nebs. No refridgerator, no wasted med, no mixing. I get mine from a pharmacy in FL, and I never have to wait for it.

I'm not sure that you can go somewhere else for it-I know when I started it I could only get it through them. Then I had a problem with them about 6 months back and I searched for another pharmacy and there was one other place in the entire tri state area (7 hour radius, including all of NY!) that could mix it-but it wasn't the same 'exact' thing as I was using-a poor substitute basically.
I know its come up before, but I'm getting a tad dissapointed in cf pharm-sorry guys! There's just been so many problems. One after the other.

Ya, you can. you can get it from any pharmacy. CVS, RiteAid, MedCo, Aetna, Caremark, Express Scripts, Wellpoint, Prescription Solutions, Blue Shield.

You name it, you can get it. This falls under the category of how hard you want to try to find it.....
