Hypertonic Saline

Wondering if anyone is using HS and who's PFTs are below 40%?

I thought I read somewhere once that you should be above that mark, but I'm curious if it's true or matters.

Hi Kelly,

I am using Hypertonic Saline (5%) and my fev1 is very low. The highest it's been this last year is 20% and i've had one with 16%. I don't have any side effects, that i know of <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> I really helps me clear my lungs, i can get the mucous out much better after my HS nebs.

My PFT's are sucktastic and I use it. I'm in the 20% zone and I really like the HS. No problems for me.
