You definitely have NOT gone too far by avoiding your grandson. When others get a cold it is a nuisance to them for a little while and then it goes away. But if we catch it from them it can turn into a disaster. I always tell my friends ( and family who might have forgotten) that their simple cold, could land me in the hospital deathly sick. The problem is ....we know it from experience, we've been there and had it happen, most healthy people have never ever been so sick they had to be hospitalized and thought they would die from a simple cold , so they just can not imagine it is a true possibility. I had to avoid my mother for 3 months because she had an off and on cold that would just not go away. I felt terrible because my mom and i are close and she doesnt drive so i always take her where she needs to go. But she certainly understood. A lot of people dont take our cautious nature seriously because they think we are overdoing it. And for them , ( who are usually healthy) it would be overdoing it, but for us, the possibilities of getting horribly sick arent worth the risks of throwing caution to the wind just to make everyone else happy. You did the right thing <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
