I got a port in my arm for my birthday this year!

Ports can be placed in a lot of different locations. Some people prefer to have them in the arm so that they're easier to access on their own, etc.

Congrats on getting a port! You're going to really like the freedom and comfort it brings when you have to do IVs. I just got my second port awhile back (had the first one for 10 years!) If you'd like to know more about it, check out my blog.

I've had my arm port for the past 8 years and yes you can use your arm as per usual....

I have to say the good ole port is a pretty robust little device... (or mine is at least) I have caught it on boxes when carrying stuff, caught it on the edge of tables and many other things and it still remains strong (they musta used some good stitching LOL)
