I have CF, and my husband and I were wondering - if he is not a carrier, which we are currently determining, what are our chances of having a baby with it? Thanks alot for your help!

If your husband is NOT a carrier, your baby will be ONLY a carrier! I highly recommend you have an extended panel CF carrier test on your husband by Quest Diagnostics Laboratories. DO NOT have just a limited panel test on your husband.
Here is a link to my website where I have a table of probabilities of inheriting CF <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cysticfibrosismaleinfertility.com/Where_to_begin.html">http://www.cysticfibrosismaleinfertility.com/Where_to_begin.html</a>

If your husband is a carrier, there is a 50% chance that your kid will have CF. If he is not a carrier, the child will not have CF, but will 100% be a carrier.

Got it, thanks people. We're getting all this data together. And my husband is getting tested in a few days. I think it will be going to Quest labs too. Thanks again.

I think I've posted this before. I have CF, my husband is a carrier.(this test was done in 1998)His CF mutation is R117H.
We have a 4 year old daughter who does not have CF. We were very lucky. She will be our only child.
