I know someone with CF and would like some advice

Welcome to the site! This is a great place to learn about CF.

I agree with Amy...people deal with CF very differently. For example, unlike Amy, my husband is very private about CF, so he doesn't talk about it with other people much and very few people even know that he has CF. So, there is a wide range of how people deal with it.

Personally, I would just approach it like you would with anybody else that you want to get to know. If she wants to talk about it, she will bring it up.

Just wanted to add - just because she doesn't bring it up doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't want to talk about it (at least that's my case).

I don't say "hey, i'm amy, i have CF", but rather when people comment about my cough (which happens often), that i sound nasaly (often), or ask why i'm going to the doc so often etc etc i explain my cf.
