ON the milk issue its just depends on the person. Some have slight dairy allergies that can make the mucus thicker, like pollen can do. But its not a life threatening allergy. Also since us cfers have digestive problems some of us are prone to GERD and dairy especially milk sometimes doesn't mix with GERD. I know a little boy that doesn't have CF and they can confirm GERD and he can't eat ice cream or drink milk it just makes him really sick (he is not lactose intolerant either). I also babysit a girl without CF and she has GERD and she can't drink milk but she can have cheese and yogurt. Weird huh. It is mainly a digestive issue in my opinion. Others will disagree and say it does thicken mucus and maybe for them it does but for me it doesn't. So just keep in mind milk and dairy affects everyone different. Just try to figure out whats best for your child and work witht he CF team don't go by what we all say here as fact for everyone.
