I wonder if anyone else gets this....

It almost sounds like you have strained your longus colli muscles. It is quite common with excessive coughing and singing, screaming... If you have a Massage Therapist ask them to specifically spend time on longus colli. Some self help ideas include slowly moving the trachea from side to side with your fingers. You can massage the longus colli yourself but it can be painful and a bit hard to relax. Pm me if you'd like instructions! I've been treating this for 11 years!!
