I'm just wondering what everyone else's FEV's & FVC's are? Its a bit too personal a question to ask others at my CF hospital but I am v curious to know how i'm doing in relation to how every one else is doing!! I'm 19, and generally need IV's every couple of months but I don't feel too<i>Text</i> bad but then I don't know if perhaps i do feel bad but don't know what good is?! i'm starting to confuse myself so help!
i think last time i went i was around 60-70% but can't remember which one that was. I'm going back next weds so i'll write them down!

Hi Siobhan,

I think you're PFT's sound great!!! But remember its how you feel also. My FEV1 is about 48-50% and sometimes i panic and my doctor always tell me to relax they are just #'s........ So if you are concerned i would speak to your doctor. Its funny i never paid any attention to my FEV1 until a few years ago when i realised how important it was. Now i am soon to be 30 and i make sure i take the best care of myself. So i hope you are doing well and keep the chin up.

I always want to know what me PFTs are compared to other too to see if I am doing well or not. Not that long ago my FEVs were in the 80s and I felt great, but now (about 4 years later) they hover in the 60s and honestly I dont feel that much worse. You would think 20% would make a huge difference, but it didnt really for me. I am 20 so I am right around where you are age wise...I wonder if most 19/20 year olds are around 60-70?

my fev1 has been floating between 10-15% for the past year or better. but that doesnt hold me down im still pretty active.

Your FEV1 is between 10-15% are you on the list for a transplant? how are you feeling?

i guess for that low of numbers i,m doing ok. i still drive myself to exercise 3 times a week. i walk treadmill at 2mph for 30 minutes then do bicycle for 20-25 then armcrank thing for about 10. i wear 5 liters o2 when exercising and 4 at rest and around home. i just quit working in april. i delivered pizzas at pizza hut for 6.5 years.i've just been on oxygen 1 year last month. so i worked for about 5 months with oxygen. how many pizza delivery guys show up to your door wearing oxygen? i really did notice an increase in tips though. but i started getting to run down and tired working all the time so i stopped so i could stay home and rest more when i need to.

That is terrible that your parents smoked in the house my boyfriend (wcf) parent's also smoke around him I am disgusted that they do this he is in the process of moving out I can't wait for him to move they have no consideration whatsoever
