I'm stumped..

Tonya- both my boys have had drug overload reactions when doing IVs. They usually get a fever sometimes a rash around the 12th day of treatment. I can't say they've ever felt the same as what Andrew described, but its worth looking into.
Keep track of when he feels badly and when he has fevers.

I hope you figure it out soon.

hey tonya...

I agree with Loulou. I'm no expert on MAC bacteria, but like her, in my adult CF experience, when fevers happen (regardless while on or off IVs), it's because of mycobacteria. I would suggest a culture for these. The last time I was SUPER sick (fevers like you would not believe) it was because of a new MAC bacteria I cultured. But before they cultured me for it, they were running every test under the sun (mono, blood infection, infected picc line, sinus infection, etc.). Now I'm on oral abx for it and will be for quite some time. I still get low grade fevers occasionally but feel better overall.

Good luck, hope all goes well.
