My daughter is the one with CF so her grandfather served in Vietnam.

Both grandfathers of my girls served in Vietnam.

Born in 1950, I turned 18 in 1968 so my father and grandfather's participated in the two world wars accordingly. My brother is five years older and joined the Army after completing his second year of University in 1966. He had been in the ROTC (Reserve Officer's Training Corp) program and after Ranger School and Advanced Jungle Tactical Training and Officer Candidate School, he went to Viet Nam right after Christmas 1967.

He was there in time for the Chinese New Year or Tet of 1968. He did his tour as a Forward Observer an Artillery Officer that had a $10,000 in gold bounty on his head. The third highest bounty after pilots and high ranking officers.

He made it home in one piece.
