I am interesting in presenting the idea of starting inhaled Vanco to help keep my MRSA in control to my doctors at my next clinic visit. I feel that if I was on something to help with the MRSA I would stay out of the hospital so much more! But I was wondering how people get it. Does a certain pharmacy compound it for you? Did you have trouble getting your insurance to cover it since it's an IV drug, and an off label use? How often do you do it? (28 days on, 28 days off?) Do you feel it's made a difference in MRSA control/ exacerbations?

Any info you can provide about using inhaled Vancomycin would be amazing! Thank you so much. =)

I think it depends on your insurance. I know that my part D insurance (medicare) will cover it as a generic if it were ever prescribed. Check with your insurance, they should be able to help. Oh, whenever a drug like that is ordered, I go with a specialty pharmacy such as Curascript. They can usually ship it within 48 hours for the next day. I hope this helps <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
