Insulin...Injection or pills?

I started on pills but not for long. I now take injections.

I take humalog injections on occasion, but even with this shortest acting of the insulins, I often bottom out, so if I eat a lot of protein with my carbs, I generally don't take anything, since I know it will even itself out. If I'm eating something super high carb (like cake, ice cream, soda, etc.) I take insulin (humalog)
