Did for me.

But I have severe allergies and my airways constrict if I'm not on Intal.

For me, it's more of an allergy thing than a CF thing.

Amy, does the intal inhaler med help you with nasal allergies? I am looking for something that will help control lung inflammation and I also have seasonal and pet dander allergies.

anon,

Intal is a mast cell stabilizer...the mast cell is what "houses" histamine. Histamine of course one of the chemicals your body produces to fight percieved intruders (I am sure you have heard of anti-histamines) So, basiclly Intal makes the house harder for the wind to to blow down. So depending on what is causing your sinus congestion it may help.

Lynda,

another common drug in that class is Tilade.

what helps my nasal allergies is an intranasal steroid - Nasacort AQ. I also take an anti-histamine, Allegra and I get allergy shots.

I haven't had a sinus infection since I started my allergy shots. It's made a HUGE difference in my lung health as well.
