Thanks Claudette, I really was rather shocked to see my identified mutation as a class I since I'm so "mild" and hadn't really seen it mentioned. I realize it doesn't dictate my future, etc., but I just didn't expect that. I guess I was assuming it would fall into a III or IV. I see that your son Sean also has that mutation as well. Maybe one day they'll have more answers for us.

I will be 30 in 7 weeks and I have a Class I and a Class II. My PFT's are in the 110's and the 120's. I don't regularly use IV antibiotics - used them once in college. Have not required tune-ups in the hospital, and have not been on an oral antibiotic in over 5 years. Though I am colonized with PA - after taking a pathogenic microrganism class in college.

Just wanted to bring this up to highlight that it is all based on percentages of patients to include that there are other factors into play as well.

Thanks for the info though - I wish there were hard fast rules, but maybe its better mentally, emotionally that they are not known right now.

I know Allie knows that it's not a hard rule. It just has been claimed many many times that there is NO link between the two whatsoever. While it obviously doesn't give you an exact path (or even an approximate one), it can show trends. That's all she's showing us.
