On 5/11 I gave out some advise to somone who asked for it. Soon there after some people took it upon thereselves to interperate my meaning as though I was talking to them personally or people with Cf in general. The fact is I answered someones forum with some words of encouragement and It's what they wanted and it was what they needed and It's what they asked for. But once again my words were turned into something negative which defeated the purpose of my answer. There are some people here that, for some reason, feel the need for people to feel sorry for them and the only way they can express themself is by trying to interperate someone's words into a completely different meaning than their true meaning. Intelegent people wrote me and understood what I was going for. Others just couldn't quite grasp what I was going for and kept telling me I used the wrong words. Well I didn't use the wrong words and people should respect my opinion whether they think I'm right or wrong and if you disagree with what I said reply to the subject with their own words and differences of opinion. Don't go to the chat room saying I said bad things about people who had died with Cf. That's just crazy and obviously someone needs alot of attention. So all I'm asking for is if you have a different opinion make a reply yourself and don't run to the chat room saying you hate me and that I've said something horrible about someome with CF who has died. I wrote in one sentence that "CF is not a death sentence" and someone actually wrote me back and said "yes it is for some people". Now that is crazy talk. You know that younger people go to the adult forum to see what we say and to say that knowing a young person with CF will read that I think is irrespossible. But I didn't run off to the chat room or chastize that person in a forum or say I hate them for saying that. The forum is a place where someone should be able to go for some advise or comfort. The chat room should be the place to let it loose.

Ricky, I'm glad you shared your feelings. Hopefully by writing it, you can release it. Thank God I wasn't raised with the attitude that CF was a death sentance or I think I'd want to wack my parents over the head.

Yes, and obviously... it's you.

Last I checked, there was no cure. Maybe YOU think it's crazy talk. But I don't and you...
<begin quote>Originally posted by: Renegade

I'm sorry bucko, but for having the lack of compassion and complete lack of humanity it took to say that...

I want you banned.

There is NO excuse. Absolutely zero. End of story, get the heck off the forum and don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Not only do I agree with miesl on that point, but this also buggs me...

No. What's irresponssible are the parents who allow their CHILDREN into an ADULT forum. I'm not going to censor what I say because a kid may decide to think s/he's one of the 'big boys' and come where s/he doesn't belong. This is the adult section. If they aren't an adult (meaning 18+, and by then they should already have a pretty firm grasp on this disease), then they don't belong here, and if they see something that depresses them, tough sh*t. They shouldn't have come here to begin with, and I'm certainly not going to tip-toe around the adult section, making up for their parent's job.

Besides, think about this honestly. How many times growing up did you happen to hear your parents cussing/talking about 'bad things'? Obviously it didn't mentally scar you. Keep in mind, some kids hear worse things in their own home than what they'd find here. I know I happened across many an argument in my home, similar to what goes on here, and I'm not a basket case because of it. People have no backbone nowadays, and this is one reason why. Stop worrying about what kids might see on an adult forum! I'm tired of people saying that we should be censored because *gasp* children might get a bad impression. The government does enough of that for us already, don't you agree?

Sorry to go off on a rant, but that really gets my blood flowing...

Em & Miesl

There are people on this forum that I have a difference of opinion with. We discuss things and occasionally argue our views. However, i engage in this with them because for the most part there is a level a respect maintained on both sides. And I know the other side truly believes in what they are saying and is arguing with the intent to make a point or gain understanding.

Some people just enjoy confrontation. Some people just seem to have free time and like to stir the pot, so to speak. I think giving ones self an id like "renegade" is a pretty good clue. definition To these people I try to just laugh and occassionally tease. I am not here to provide entertainment to the bored.

Ricky, i agree with the ladies on this (big surprise I know) that was a rather reprehensible sentence(the weak die - sentence). You might have meant it another way but some things come out so badly that even if you meant it another way it's too late to explain it away. That was a very insensitive thing to say, particualrly in a CF forum I think. You might be better off just apologizing for it.

There are lots of unprodictables with CF and even luck involved in staying free of some more dangerous bacteria, etc Everyone is different and we have varying degrees of issues with how CF effects us. I think we all need to keep that in mind. If you are 40 and still ticking, yes, some of it has to do with you being a fighter and such, but a lot also has to do with luck and the degree that CF effects you. We are all different and some people have more trouble with CF and it is not necessary their fault and its not because they are weak. They were just dealt worse cards then you were. Lets please keep this in mind with our posts.
