I'm a science writer working on a college-level biology textbook for non-science majors to be published by W.H. Freeman in 2008. Unlike traditional textbooks, my project will take an issues based approach to teaching biology topics. I would like to write an article about Cystic Fibrosis as a way to teach students about the disease, inheritance patterns and dominant and recessive genes. The story would begin with a person's personal story, and then launch into the details of their disease and also their family history.
