Is anyone from IOWA? Ok-- here is our dilema. We bought a puppy online from this lady in IOWA. Her address is 30750 190th street, Bonaparte, IA 52620. She was to get with us yesterday about the shipment of the puppy for next wednesday. Guess what....... we have left messsages and emails. No response. She already billed our credit card for $650 this includes $250 air flight. We are feeling scammed, the worst part is this is our 4 kids christmas gift and that is their christmas money!!! Maybe tomorrow we will here from her, but I am getting ready nervous. Just wondering if anyone has heard of www.julianashappytails.com, or the address I posted.

We have at least 2 people from Iowa, but it sounds to me like a scam. I hate to say it, but it does..........contact your credit card company!

Hi, I'm from Iowa, and Bonaparte is somewhere around here, but not sure where. I would contact your credit card company immediately and tell them it is a scam. The woman would be available otherwise. I would give her an email saying you are stopping transaction. Maybe she'll answer it then! Good luck.

Thanks for your replies. I am worried sick, not only do we have the $650 on our credit card with no puppy, but that is our 4 kids main present. I did call the credit card company and they are going to dispute it, the puppy is to be delivered on the 20th, so maybe she is just toooooo busy.... I have a bad feeling on it now though. I also pulled the sherriff/police departments phone numbers around there. My husband said maybe there was an accident or something like that. So we'll see and I'll keep you updated.

Is there a humane society or shelter in that area? (You could check petfinders.org for contact info). Where we live, ours is made up of dog trainers, people who are in a lot of dog shows, breeders. A lot of times those places are familiar with dog breeders... You could also contact the secretary of state for Iowa. Again, our state requires business licenses, businesses are supposed to register with them... (Course that didn't help a friend of ours, whose elderly mother was sold an $1800 vacuum cleaner by somebody going door to door.)

You could also see if there's a chamber of commerce in Bonaparte. Or heck, call the police or sherriff's department.

Maybe this person is just out of town on business. But does sound kinda fishy.
