Is Bi Pap a trend in treatments

it took me more than a month to finally sleep through the night with my bipap, and even longer after that to feel fully comfortable with it during sleep and with the transition to a cannula in the morning when i woke up. i agree with trying out different masks, i did that in the hospital when they first decided to start me on it. good luck!

The bi-pap was an end stage treatment for me before the transplant. I was really only put on it to get me higher on the lung transplant list.

That being said, I could not get used to the stupid thing!! I only had to wear it while I was sleeping and every time I woke up coughing (which was about every 20 mins) I would have to take the stupid thing off to be able to spit junk out. I really didn't get any sleep with using the bi-pap and I feel sorry for anyone who truly needs it!

Thanks for all your replies. I don't get why they have me on it but they told me they are maintreaming people with it. I have a hard time believing that. I hope they wouldn't say that so that I would try it without hesitation as I have done in the past. I went with it this time sort of cause I was pressured into it. Oh well I will give it anothe try but I hope it is worth all this trouble.
I don't believe I am end stage , I am sever but I think they are just preparing me or something so there isn't anxiety. Sorry the anxiety will come anyway. It just wont be as bad . Anxiety is just part of the program.
