is it a guarantee that you will have to get sinus surgery at some point?

I have had my sinuses scraped once, 8 years ago, and I am sure that it should be done again. However, after I had it done and healed, I could smell again. I smelled things that I never want to smell again, and believe that smelling is over rated. However it was nice to be able to breath out of my nose.

i don't think so. i am 27, and while my lungs are in horrible shape, my sinuses are great. sometimes i do sinus flushes just for the heck of it, although i really feel as though i don't need them. i have never had surgery, my sinuses scraped, polyps or anything. i definitely don't have atypical cf. cf is kicking my butt lately, but i still don't have sinus problems!

<br />My son aged 13 has no sinus problems at all. We're hoping that will continue to be the case!
