is it just me, or do you feel buzzed by the oregano?

sorry, i'm still getting used to posting on here.

i have noticed some weird feelings from the oo. not quite euphoric, but that's the closest thing i can think to compare it to. i've been on the p73 stuff for 5 days now. sometimes during the day i feel like my mind is racing, and when i sleep i have weird dreams, as if my mind is racing at night too.

last night during my nebulizer treatment, i actually got feeling kinda panicy and had to stop for a few minutes. could this be from the "concentrated bursts" of nebulizing with the oil stuff? or could the olive oil base be having some kind of ill effect?

my brain! my brain!

any imput would be appreciated.

I've never experienced anything like you are describing. You never had any issue with oregano or olive oil before did you? You might be experiencing some form of anxiety related to taking the oregano oil? Dunno. I've never heard anyone report anything like this while taking the oil.

i didn't say this to freak anyone out about starting the oregano, i really think it's AWESOME. the benefits far outweigh what i have been experiencing. kiel said that some people feel weird the first few days on it. maybe my body is just adjusting or something? (i have also noticed swollen glands...has anyone else?)

i seriously don't think it is anxiety. besides what happened last night, the feelings occur totally randomly throughout the day.

The swollen glands part could be of concern, if anything else more serious starts to happen I suggest stopping the oil. You might be having some form of reaction to one of the components of the oil, in some way. If nothing serious starts to happen, i'd say give it atleast a full week to see if anything gets worse, then make the call from there. Just like anything that is natural, even though something benefits many people, it might have a weird reaction to someone else. Considering how many nasty bugs are in the average CF body, and the OO kills off a ton of stuff, it's inevitable that someone somewhere would have an unusual reaction in some way to taking it, atleast initially. My worst side effect while on it was the extreme tiredness for the first several days due to the massive kill off of the bugs in my system (which is a common side effect). But no, i've never heard of or experienced anything similar to what you are describing. But it's good for everyone to post their side effects good or bad, so we all have a generalized database regarding it.

hey sean,

i was kinda thinking that the swollen glands could be from stuff being killed off in my body?? i don't know. it has gotten better though, they don't actually hurt like they did before, and they have gone, too.

Laura, your lymph nodes are places that collect dead cells when we have a cold or infection. I think the biggest groups are under your arms, around your neck and like your groin area. If the glands are sore around your neck then that's what it probably is. the oo is killing stuff in your system, so the sudden influx of dead organisms is being collected in your nodes.

I would say it could last a few days, however you already said that you are feeling better. So that's probably what it was.

I don't know but I am going to add this as a thought. I know I have read that women tend to have more involved and vivid dreams when they are on or near their monthly cycle, so if you are on your period that may be a cause of your dreams (if not then nevermind). Also, since as mentioned on prior threads OO is somewhat of a blood thinner it may be causing your blood to flow more smoothly thereby creating the euphoric feeling, increased energy and more vivid dreams because there is increased blood flow. Just a thought.

When I first started using the OO in my ned treatment I had to start slowly (with 2 drops and build to 4) because I was getting a numbing sensation in my throat from inhaling it. The lower dose did not affect me as much and since I built up to the 4 drops I have not had a problem versus just starting with 4 drops from the get go.

I didn't experience the lymph node/gland swelling so have no idea about that.
