We use separate neb cups for HTS and Pulmozyme. Each is washed and sterilized after use. We were told not to use the same cups because drops of HTS can make the Pulmozyme less effective. We have 6 neb cups in use at all times. We wash them a fter use and them boil them at the end of the day.

I was told to use the Pari-LC for Tobi and Hypertonic and the Side Stream for Pulmozyme because those are the cups that were used during the trials/studies...and if you want the optimum results you should use the same equipment that was used for the trials.

Having said that.. our new doctor said my son could use side streams for both saline and pulmozyme, but I didn't do it because I like the answer I was given by our last clinic -- it seems to be more accurate to me.

And I think that is the bottom line for all of the medication and procedure issues that come up - what makes the most sense to you after reading and researching. But I always appreciate posts like these because I like to see what others think and what they are doing. And sometimes it causes me to change my mind.

We use different nebs for each med, and boil in between each treatment. As others have mentioned we have 7 different nebs so that we only have to boil once every 24 hours.
