So I was taking a probiotic that I always take more often but I thought maybe it was adding to my distress (when I was taking another brand I couldnt tolerate it well) so I layed off it the past 4 days to make sure it wasnt that and now I wll be giong back to it.

Since i am not having true diarhea but alot loose/soft stools with gas etc doc thinks my intestinal flora is out wack but not c.diff so he says try taking probiotic agian plus some anti-diarhea med a couple dyas and if by friday we arent in shape then we will test for c.diff. I am inclined to agree with him plus I can postpone poo'in in a cup LOL. Ok off for some immodium!

c.diff is an intestinal bacteria that when all the other 'good' bacteria in your gut are killed off can take over a bit leaving you with an intestinal infection that causes diarhea and can cause colitis and rarely death. I really dont know much about it.

When my tummy gets the "whammy" from long term/several antibiotics, I've found that I need to add something like Kefir (I buy the unflavored, unsweetened and mix it with my Activia) in addition to my Culturelle and yogurt. Last time it took 3 weeks or so for my tummy to get settled back down to somewhat normal. I hope yours is feeling back to normal soon <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> .

And-funny I just bought some kefir this week but hadnt even opened it, will do asap thanks for the tip.

well I bought some immodium and just 2 doses and it appears to have resolved my issue although I have another one

the pain I was having was SEVERE acid issues, I have gotten this 3 other times, once after a botched gallbladder surgery, once after I hyperstimmed post IVF, and once while pregnant, after the first time they did endoscopy and said my digestive tract was 'swiss cheese like' nice and I would always need a PPI med, after it healed I went off of it and its only now when I have a major issue throwing me off it flares up. Off for my meds, I have found if I take them about 3 monhts it gives everything time heal then I am ok to go off of them. Oddly enough it took me a while to figure it out, some symptoms were hidden by my feeling unwell due IVs etc and then I dont get the in your throat acid much it is all in my guts and just alot pain around sternum, it only gets into my throat if I let it go ALONG time which I did the first two times not realizing what it was.

thanks so so much for all your hlep
