Arizona, in addition to its Medicaid program (known as AHCCCS), has a program called Children's Rehabilitative Services (CRS). CRS covers care for a variety of medical conditions specified in Arizona law, such as spina bifida, cystic fibrosis. By statute, it is a children's program, and is only funded until people reach the age of 21. I think years ago they let some people continue receiving care through the CRS clinics even after reaching adulthood, but had to stop that when the numbers kept increasing. Arizona's legislature has never amended the program to allow it to cover adults. Maybe that is what he is talking about. But it would be inaccurate to say they "stopped" the adult program.

In Phoenix, there is an adult cf clinic, but it is not a government sponsored clinic, just a medical facility that accepts payment from Medicaid, private insurance, and private pay.

She says he has no immune system left after his transplant. Is that possible?</end quote></div>

Yes, I believe it is true. After transplant the immune system is suppressed so it won't attack the new lungs.

Risa can probably answer this better!

I say this man has CF as well. If a transplant patient is stable they are not extremely suppressed like she described in whatever wording she used. It all depends on what drugs they are taking and what they are being treated for. According the pictures, he looks like he had a transplant <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I do not think anyone can be more genuine in their plea as these people. I hope they find help soon.

edited to add: I added their link to transplantbuddies.org message forums. Perhaps we will find someone to help them.
