If your kidneys and liver are well then do not worry. I took sporonox for six months post first transplant. I never took it again. I had no problems with it. I think it was a pink and blue pill if i remember. Not sure lol It was about eleven years ago that I took this med.

They gave me Vfend which I took for two months after second transplant. I believe they are similar drugs.

If you can, watch your sugar intake. Sugary foods will breed fungus in the body.

Jesse was on sporinox for a bunch of months (6 I think). His liver #s went up BUT he was also on imipenem, bactrim and rifabutin. His dr took him off the sporinox first and it seemed to help. They are up a little again now, so she's added actigal. His aspergillus has been good.

I started taking it in early Nov. for aspergillus and a fungus ball in my left lung. I havent had any problems with it . Doctor said she wants to have blood drawn each month to be sure my liver is ok with it, and also i need to have "serial cat scans" as she calls it , to see if the fungus ball has shrunk.

I've been on Sporanox for a few years now for ABPA. The only times I have trouble with it is when I forget to take it with food.

I have also been on it for a few years now. My doc is trying to get me off prednisone so he put me on that. I was able to drop for 40 every day to 10mg every other day with it so I love it. I never have had any problems with it<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
