The CF mutation is only 1 part of the story. You can't say just because a person has a certain mutation that they will be mild or severe. My brother and I had the same mutations and he died when he was 13 and here I am 26 and trying to have a second child (so, obviously healthy). There are a ton of other factors that come into play like Lauren stated.
