Hey everyone, thanks for the really nice posts and prayers and thoughts and emails and PM's from Mark's post!!!
Luckly this was was not a long hospitalization for me, I thought I was in there until the delivery day, it's a good place for me to be to recieve care, but I just got so bored...
They did an ultrasound this AM to check the amniotic fluid levels, check the babies placement and to check my cervix. Everything looked wonderful according to the doctor, and I'm having about 5 contractions an hour (more frequent in the PM) but they are controlled by a new med they gave me. They decided there was no medical need to keep me at this point, but if I have more than 6 contractions in an hour for 2 consecuitive hours, I am to come back.
I am also to stay off of my feet 90% of the time (hardest part for me!!!!). I can get up to eat/make something, go to the bathroom, shower and to take a little stroll around the house, but nothing major. No laundry, no dishes, no cleaning, no feeding animals.... I feel so bad because Mark has to do it all. but we've also been lucky that I've made it to 30 weeks and am just now having this "bedrest" and no activity thing.
So that's the update for now. It's funny because on the way out the door to the appt. I said to Mark, "I really should pack a hospital bag to put in the car" but we were late so we just shrugged it off. Then on the way there I said, "I bet you THIS is the appointment they tell us that one baby isn't growing well or my cervix has changed or my contractions are too frequent" and Mark just reassured me it would be fine.
I figured that was the case because thursday (17th) was our anniversary and we were going out to dinner (our last outing-ever, LOL) to celebrate my B day and our anniversary right after the baby appt. And I just figured I'd end up getting admitted or put on strict bed rest. LOL, I wasn't surprised when the doc said she was going to admit me to monitor. I was bummed, but not surprised. You just know sometimes, <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
Thanks to everyone for the nice thoughts and prayers, it means so much to us. I'm home for now. We have another appt. on Thrusday so if nobody hears from me again I'm probably admitted again (their only two loaner computers are in IT for repair and have been for over a month). I'll try to get our home computer from mark but he needs it for finishing school so we'll see.....
Thanks to all!!!
