I've done it many times, I feel sometimes it's help me get over it quicker but it is something you gotta feel out cause there's times that I push it and end up feeling worse too but for the most part it usually help me

I never had muscle or joint pains before... only after doing yoga or something like that. But still, I guess I won't push myself too much then.

I think that totally depends on your body and how it reacts. I find exercise is helpful most of the time, but if I'm sick enough, it will just deplete me more and make me sicker. In those cases, I either give myself a few days off or just take a gentle slow walk around the block or something.

I read a study once that compared two groups of people with a cold - one worked out and the other didn't, and the exercise did not seem to impact the recovery time. If I just have a headcold, I usually still workout, but I take it a little easier. I think it helps clear me out.
