Joints hurt - Glucosimine

Wanted to find out if any of you have achey joints? Or achey backs. This just started about 6 months ago and it annoys me. My tx coordinator said most likely it is CF related arthritis, joint disease, or the fact I am getting old!!!! 44

I started taking Glucosimine a month ago and my coordinator said to try taking it for 3 months, and see if I get relief. He also said some people swear it is the best, and others say it does not do a thing. It is expensive.

Anyone have any experiences to share?

Yes, I have some pretty bad joint pain. What helps me more than anything is staying warm. If I get cold I stiffen up and ache all over. I also take tylenol and aleve everyday. I don't know if you can do that after transplant...

I tried glucosimine for a while and it didn't help. But it works for some people. Good luck!

I'd ask your doctor about the potential for it to raise your blood sugar if you have issues with CFRD. A few years ago I read about the correlation between dogs on the chondroitin and glucosomine combo and developing diabetes. We had a basset hound on it for joint issues and he developed diabetes and we ended up taking him off the supplement because we'd notice a spike in his blood sugar.

my right elbow will hurt, it comes and goes, i haven't really done anything for it except take ibuprophen and curse profusly. My grandfather had arthritis in his hands and something he did was he would take and break open vitamin e tablets and rub it on whatever hurt, he said it worked, but i don't know
