Yes we are army, I know that all the services have different names for the same thing, navy it is called a humanitarian reassignment. and army it is commpassionate reassignment, either way it is up to the commander to approve, and then it goes up to {in our case} the DA {department of the Army} they have the final say so on the matter. We were in a wierd situation because my husband was actually on orders to go to two different palces, one to Korea and the other to Kuwait, so they both had to be dealt with. We have one year left before he ETS's and we are hoping he doesnt get shipped out before then.

Nicole,
That's kinda what I thought... its great I don't have to go "check in" again here until we're ready to leave so I can have doc sign off on services I need. I also heard you can never get out once in unless a major change in your health takes place. It is apparently the military member's responsibility/duty to stay enrolled, and I'm under the impression they can get in trouble if you don't tell them if you have a disability. Although, I would think you can make a case if you want to get out... as long as you tell them you are responsible for finding your own care, etc. wherever you go.... so they are not liable for anything. I would think if you do that, they MAY let you out... just speculating though.

Good luck, and thanks for the info!

Glad you kind of got to the bottom of it (is there ever a "bottom of it" in the military??)

The Navy does things differently than you guys are describing. Good to know so from now on I can make sure to answer the Navy questions about EFMP

Good luck with it all,
