I agree with everyone here, especially Jennifer1981.

I got CF sick from lack of sleep, before that, I was as healthy as a horse.
Good sleep is vital, it's critical!!!

We hope you find a resolution to your problem ..we will be praying.

thanks for the fan tip terri. i will try that one. kelli, how i wish i could do that. i recently destoyed his computer mouse because he was being a disrespectful little turd and helping himself to my things. i ended up with his hands around my throat and spit in my face. i can only dream of revenge now. family meetings are useless because in this household there is no such thing. ive had plenty of talks to my parents but its the same old thing, "put up with it". the most hilarious reply i get is "you dont have to do anything the next day so who cares". yet, if i were to sleep in i would get yelled at. wtf?! when my eldest brother was at the stage im at now, no one was allowed to disturb him. no one would even dream of upsetting him in any way. and no one ever used the crap excuse 'just put up with it'. yet for some reason people are allowed to do whatever they like to me. i dont get it. actually, yeah i do get it. im not the firstborn favourite but oh well!

Call your doc and have him/her call your parents and tell them how vital it is for you to get plenty of sleep. Sometimes people just need to hear it from a "professional". I totaly agree that you should not be subjected to this. If nothing else, since your aren't sleeping anyway, make it your mission to get revenge on your brother. If he won't let you sleep, then don't let him sleep.

i threatened them that i would tell my doc but they dont seem phased. im just gonna tell him anyway. see how they react when he has a little chat to them lol!

what i need to do is get something with a loud bass and put it up next to the wall [our bedrooms are next to each other]. the bass on his tv is just the worst. i can feel it through my bed! i think i have my old stereo i will set that up. i will do it on a night when he has to work for maximum impact hahaha.

and yes emily please stab away!!! trust me, if i had a way of moving out i would. i found out today that the state housing group has over 1000 spare houses that for some odd reason they arent giving to applicants. makes my blood boil hearing that!!

Kylie,

Like I said, it sounds like your parents and entire family are a lost cause. They aren't worth the heartaches or headaches. You really do need to move out. Even to live on your own, though, may be to much for you right now. You seem so worn out that moving out on your own right now might be too much. That is why I suggested moving in with another relative. I don't want you to move out, get more overwhelmed, and end up in the hospital. It's really hard on your own. I have my own house with my husband. He works 10-12 hour days 4-5 days a week. So most of the time, I'm alone. When I'm sick or run down, I have all the stuff around the house to yet finish. It's a big step. I have mild CF but couldn't see myself working and living alone for too long at all. When I worked, I picked everything up and ended up losing more money than I was making. I have mild CF only because I stopped working and devoted more attention to my CF. Moving out on your own is a big responsiblilty. And if your not ready, it could swallow you up.

Sorry if I sound like a older sister here. Heck, maybe you really need one right now with the lack of family support that you have! I hope I helped, though!<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

I've got a couple of cousins who can't sleep without a fan. In fact when one visits, we make sure we put a fan in the guest room. Really cuts down on the noise. Also, maybe you could get some earplugs or noise cancelling headphones -- go to sleep listening to some calming music.
