kanamycin...any experience?

Hi all,
Andrew is in the hospital to treat his myco abscessus infection. We were supposed to start amikacin yesterday, but apparently there is a national shortage. The doctor said he is pretty resistant, so she is having Infectious Disease oome to meet with us today and give their advice. She is thinking of using kanamycin, but does not have alot of experience with it. Has anyone here been treated with that med for mycobacterium abscessus and shown results?
