Apparently its a pitch for a reality show in which a terminally ill person selects from 3 people in which to give her kidney (s).

Seems unethical to say the least, but it does bring about in interesting idea, on the need for more organs for transplants.

Personally I would like to see more commercials/PSA's highlighting the need for organs. Possibly they could have people speak who are on waiting lists.

Why everyone is not an organ donor I don't know. I don't see what the big deal is after all, in most cases your dead when they take your organs.

I can't recall what i selected on my drivers license, so I'm probably not one who should complain, but having cystic fibrosis, I'm pretty sure my organs would not be transplantable any way.

I agree that it is unethical. what were these ppl smoking when they thought this show would be a good idea? what about the ppl who have been on tx list for years? shouldnt they get the same opportunity as the "contestants"? There are better ways to get the word out about organ donation. So sad, ppl will do anything to get TV ratings.

I am apalled and the only + I see is maybe it will be getting alot of publicity for its morbidity which will in the end raise awareness about organ donation and thus increase # donors.

I heard about this on the news this morning. I think its sick to have it as a game show!

But I agree that more adds and work needs to be done for organ donation awareness.

I saw a blerb about this on the local news. I think its totally sick! Its not buying an organ but its pretty close. What about all those other people out there who are probably sicker than these 3 who need a kidney? I can't believe that any doctor would go along with this.

I think its wrong for a few reasons. One is those who need the organs, but cant/wont become contestants dont have a chance. Two even tho the talk of organ donations gets out there, I almost feel that this makes a mockery of the need & seriousness and thirdly.....just simply what has happened to people in general!
