I take Lysine occasionally. It also is suppose to relax your muscles. I take it at night sometimes, and have never had any side effects or trouble with it. I told my doctor and pharmacist I was taking it occasionally too and they didn't mind.

Amy,

Why not take glutathione (GSH) instead of l-Lysine? People have had good success with GSH from www.theranaturals.com or liposomal GSH from www.gshnow.com.

I have never heard of l-Lysine increasing glutathione. I am interested in reading that information.

Well my understanding is the glutathione has great properties that can help boost your immune system. Because of CF digestion problems, many CFers don't produce enough of it, even when they take enzymes. This may contribute to why many of us are colonized with pseudamonus (sp?)

Some CFers take MedImmune Plus which has pre-cursors to glutathione (you can't buy gluthatione... only it's pre-cursors) such as L-Lysine.

Others I have heard nebulize it........ or other glutathione pre-cursorers.

So I figured I would give it a shot...... the L-Lysine that is. Plus I"m trying to increase intake of avocado and broccoli which can help as well.

I take Lysine for my hair/skin/nails, especially after prednisone wreaked havoc on them a couple years ago.

No side effects for me.

I take Lysine for cold sores, severe dry skin, stuff like that. I've never heard of any connection to Glut though. It definately helps with sores and skin related stuff.
